West Greenwich Pub Tour 1980

This rather ambitious 14 venue pub tour of west Greenwich appeared in the Jun 1980 edition of London Drinker:

Of the 14 pubs mentioned: 10 remain open, 2 have been converted to other uses, 1 demolished, and 1 absorbed into another pub:

1. Horse & Groom - closed in 1997 after basement collapsed and was demolished in 2004 as part of site clearance for new residential development;
2. George & Dragon - open as a pub;
3. Royal George - closed in 2010 and converted to residential;
4. Ashburnham Arms - open as a pub;
5. Prince Albert - open as a pub, now known as Prince of Greenwich;
6. Fox & Hounds - was subsequently operated by Meantime Brewery and renamed as Greenwich Union. Was later acquired by Young's and incorporated into their Richard I pub next door;
7. Richard I - open as a pub;
8. Rose & Crown - open as a pub;
9. King's Arms - open as a pub;
10. Cricketer's - closed in 2010 and has had various bar/restaurant uses since;
11. Coach & Horses - open as a pub;
12. Admiral Hardy - open as a pub;
13. Spanish Galleon - open as a pub;
14. Gipsy Moth - open as a pub.
